This Valentine’s, I’m excited to offer fresh locally grown flowers at Nothing New in downtown Concord. 🌷I’ll stock wrapped bouquets each morning Tuesday - Thursday.🌷 You can preorder a wrapped bouquet or a vase of flowers for pickup Thursday or Friday (highly recommended!) 💐or you can come make up a bouquet on Friday afternoon. Paperwhites! I’ve been growing them for years, but have never dedicated a post to them. These narcissus (daffodil family) bulbs will bloom inside, not needing the winter chill. They prefer a bright, cool spot, and can get pretty lanky when grown in a warm area. No matter! Just enjoy their wild, free stalks full of fragrant blooms. Different varieties have different scents. Some are very sweetly scented, like “wintersun”-shown in the last picture. Some grow paperwhites in gravel, but if you grow them in soil, you can plant them out into the yard when they are finished blooming. Mine rebloom most years, sometimes mid winter if we have a warm snap (not this year 🥶). Christmas is on the way! Pick up your fresh flowers @nothingnewobv today (Monday) from noon - 6 PM or tomorrow from 10 - 4. Saturday is a busy day in downtown Concord! I’ll be having an amaryllis workshop @nothingnewobv (165 Brumley Ave) at 10:30 AM and then dropping the runners 🏃 in my family off for the 🎅🏼Santa Scramble. If you can make a little time to pot up one of these bulbs, you won’t regret it! They thrive as inside plants in the winter, blooming for a month or more. We have a few spaces open, so just come join, even if it’s last minute. Bring a pretty pot from your collection or peruse what I have available in my corner of Nothing New. 🌺 If you can’t come tomorrow, we’ll do this again on Saturday morning, December 7!
