Good news! If you love Willows, you can grow them in your outdoor space, propagating them easily from willow twigs.
Choose a space away from water lines. Use cuttings from an existing Willow tree or from sticks that have been kept in water. Cuttings should be the width of your pinky finger and about a foot long. Bury half of each cutting, planting it directly into the ground. The young willow plants thrive on water and should remain well watered in the first year. You’ll be surprised how quickly your willow cuttings will root! The winter is a great time to root willow trees from twig cuttings.
